Ingredients:
1½ lb

Beef or Lamb

Onions
Finely Chopped

1 slice

Bread Soaked In Water & Drained

½ cup

Oil
|
¼ cup
|
Raisins
|
½ cup
|
Water
|
1 Tbsp
|
Cinnamon
|
2 Tbsp
|
Honey
|
Directions:
In medium bowl mix together the meat, one chopped onion, eggs and bread.
Season with salt and pepper.
Form into small balls.
Heat 1/4 cup oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and saute the meatballs
until browned.
Remove from pan and set aside.
In large saucepan heat remaining oil and fry onions until golden.
Add meatballs, raisins, cinnamon, honey and water.
Bring to a boil and reduce heat and simmer for about one hour, check
seasoning and add salt and pepper before serving.
Helpful Tips:
This is my version of an authentic dish from Morocco. It captures the
flavors of middle eastern cookery and is delicious served over couscous or
wrapped in pita bread.
